Javier and I are officially moved in to our new apartment :) Our apartment search ended up taking longer than we had hoped and didn't end exactly the way we thought it would, but we do have a place (and don't worry...it does have two bedrooms...you're free to start planning your visit!). In truth, we were the picky ones. We looked at several places that were fine but we wanted a spot we loved! And we finally found it! The only issue was....it wasn't furnished. (Not even a washer or refrigerator.) I think I was more dismayed by that fact than Javier (shocker that he was the one that was optimistic about something...) but he thought we could furnish it ourselves (even though we own no vehicle, let alone a truck and didn't even know where to start to look for furniture...).
So thats what we've been spending all of our time working on this week. Its not quite picture perfect, so for now you'll have to be satisfied with the pictures I took before we started settling in!

Here is the awesome kitchen! (that washer left with the last tenant). It has an amazing view (that you'll see in a minute) and tons of counter/cabinet space! |
(That refrigerator left too) But look at my cute backsplash :) Unfortunately, the floors are WHITE and show EVERYTHING so I'm hoping some kitchen rugs make it in our next Megamaxi run! |
Here is our master bedroom. The wall color seems a little intense in this picture, but its actually not too bad. (a bit of a bright peach, but we agreed that the colored paint made it feel more homey) |
Here is the guest bedroom! (We'll try not to use all of this closet so that you have some space when you come visit!) |
This is a picture from the front door! You walk in to this big living/dining room combo (something we had and liked in DC too) |
Now I'm standing in the hallway to give you a look from the other side. (and a sneak peak of our view!) |
Here is our bathroom! Its nice (has a shower behind the door) and we have a little half bath off of the living room! We've never had two bathrooms before...its AWESOME. |
Here is it! We get to look right at the gorgeous volcano, Pichincha, on the west side of Quito. I never thought I would care one way or another about a view, but we looked at SO many apartments with gorgeous views I was so happy when the apartment we settled on had a good one! |
An evening shot for you (the whole city lights up and is beautiful at night!) |
I promise I'll add some more pictures once we have something on the wall (and Javier finishes this book shelf he is putting together as I type...) But know that we're starting to build a little home here that we're super excited about it already! Can't wait for each of you to come visit and see it!
it looks amazing! and HUGE! getting more and more excited!
